Astro Table

William Waris

The Astro Table draws inspiration from mid-century space-age design, blending playful geometry with refined simplicity. Its curved surfaces and floating form reflect the optimism and experimentation of the era. The table became inspiration for the Orbit Collection.

The Orbit Collection is a collaborative furniture series designed with two peers, inspired by the flight paths and motion of satellites. The collection explores how rolled metal tubes can express movement and weightlessness through clean geometry and repetition.

MetalWorking

Highlights
Collaborated with two designers to create a bent-metal furniture collection.
Explored how geometry and repetition can visually express movement through structure.
Developed full-scale prototypes using metal bending and welding techniques.
Balanced aesthetic lightness with structural strength, emphasizing flow and continuity.
Integrated form studies, CAD modeling, and hands-on fabrication to refine the final designs.
