How it Works

The MIX Collection transforms music discovery into a physical, collectible experience. Each capsule represents a mood, genre, or decade designed with distinct visual identities that make every piece feel special and worth keeping. The controller allows up to four capsules to be combined, which then generates a curated playlist based on your selection.

Packaging

The packaging and graphic language reinforce this sense of individuality, turning each capsule into a small work of art. Together, the capsules form a growing collection that reflects the listener’s evolving tastes and memories, making the act of discovering music both personal and deeply engaging.

Process

Sketching

The initial designing of MIX focused on the interactions and style of how the user would interact with the music.

Process

Modeling

Many wooden models were made for studying size and proportions. These models gave me insights into how knobs felt, capsule size, and interactions.

Process

CAD Modeling

Detailed CAD modeling of MIX not only included its form but also material and manufacturing methods as well.

Process

UX/UI Design

The interface for MIX was created so that it would only enhance the music, the display shows the influence of each capsule is having on the playlist. A priority was placed on the album art and music videos as well.

Process

Packaging

After developing the concept and product design, I collaborated with two classmates to bring MIX to life through a cohesive marketing campaign. Together, we created packaging, visuals, and promotional materials that extended the product’s identity beyond the device itself.

Process

Detailed Prototype

A model was made with real finishes and packaging for demonstration.

Process

Branding

Our team developed brand visuals, motion videos, and merchandise that reflected MIX’s tactile and emotional character.
